Our story
From a Plain City farm shop to four shops
- 2007
A farm shop in Plain City
Ray Raber moves his family to Columbus from Apple Creek, Ohio, and starts fixing cars, tractors, semis and lawn mowers out of a farm shop in Plain City. No advertising, just word of mouth and work he could stand behind.
- 2008
ER Autocare is born
Ray’s son Eric joins him, bringing experience from a local Ford dealership, a trucking company and a concrete crew. The shop gets its name from the two of them: E for Eric, R for Ray.
- 2012
Too big for the farm shop
The work outgrows the original shop, so ER Autocare moves one mile down the road. By the end of 2013, business has doubled.
- 2018
The next chapter
Eric buys the business from Ray and starts planning for growth. Ray keeps doing what he loves: fixing cars.
- 2023
Four shops strong
ER Autocare now serves drivers from four shops: Plain City, Polaris, Upper Arlington and Sawmill Road in Dublin.

Same-day service
Most repairs can happen the same day.
Ride sharing and shuttle
Ride sharing is available at our Polaris, Sawmill and Upper Arlington shops. Shuttle service is available at our Plain City shop. Mention it when booking, and we'll help you with the details.
